"The above pot is used to make Nsima, an important food staple in Malawi. It is a food that for what I can tell is used to make the stomach feel more full. Reminds me of grits, seemed to be the go-to food in the area." -Zach

The nursery children at Lakeside have no toys or interactive educational tools. Teachers sing songs, play traditional games and recite oral stories.

A traditional Malawian meal includes Nsima (maize), Usipa (small fish), Offals (liver) and greens.
A local woman stands proudly outside her perfectly tended home.
"The fat guy on the left is me. The other gentleman is Happy. He was the man who showed us around the village. When this picture was taken we were on our way to discuss an issue with a chief. There are social orders that must be attended to. Happy is a great great man. Meanwhile, I look like a giant bearded checkerboard." -Zach
