Melissa Leschuck has been a lifelong traveler and volunteer. It was through her experiences in South East Asia, Africa and Haiti, which reinforced her belief that truly sustainable development within a community begins at the grassroots level. In 2006, she returned to college to pursue a degree in Political Science International Relations with a minor in Media Journalism. Over a two-year span, she interned at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and volunteered at UNICEF under the web production unit. In September 2008, Melissa graduated from Hunter College in New York City. Combining her passion for people, environment and animals along with her knowledge of politics and media, Melissa co-founded Growing Voices with her friend and supporter, Quinn Lundberg. Melissa resides in San Francisco, California but considers her home traveling the globe on behalf of Growing Voices.
Quinn Lundberg graduated in 2010 with a degree in International Conflict Resolution from the CUNY Baccalaureate Program (Hunter College) in New York City. While a student, Quinn volunteered for UNICEF under the web production unit where she developed her writing, producing and editing skills. It was Quinn’s travels through Afghanistan, Bosnia and Africa that led to her belief in supporting development through community based projects and grassroots organizations. As a trained dancer she cultivated an affinity for using the arts to assist in conflict rehabilitation and hopes to apply this in her future works. Quinn manages Growing Voices from the headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.
